Visiting Wellington, New Zealand

Wellington is known for being a friendly, safe and inclusive city surrounded by spectacular landscape. It is an ideal place for international students to study, while exploring the local way of life and improving their English.

New Zealand is a clean country, with a stable economy and political system. It embraces a rich cultural heritage and high standard of living. New Zealand has a population of just over 4.7 million people, with just under 500 000 living in the countries vibrant capital. Wellington is one of the only capital cities in the world that has a World Health Organisation endorsed ranking as a “Safe Community” – a ranking which considers the personal safely of its residents and visitors.

Wellesley College is located in the seaside suburb of Days Bay on the eastern side of Wellington Harbour. Just a 25 minute commute by road or ferry from Wellington city, which is a vibrant city, with a thriving film industry and many museums, theaters and host to international and local sporting events. Wellington and surrounding cities all have a reliable public transport system with the compact central city comprising of many places of interest all within walking distance.
