During the year, as a friend, you will receive news from the Foundation; invitations to significant events / celebrations, and a paper copy of At the Bay. You will also have the opportunity to host a Friends get together on the school grounds.
The Wellesley College Foundation welcomes our guests to an informal evening of drinks and canapes at the lovely Wellington Club. Meet up with former staff, old boys and current Wellesley families and hear about the wonderful scholarship programme at Wellesley. Celebrate the Foundation’s achievements whilst enjoying beverages and the chance to reconnect with the wider Wellesley Community.
The one and only Mr G (Steve Girvan) will be our MC for the evening, and we will have old boy Christopher Tubbs (at Wellesley 1976 – 1984) as our guest speaker. It will also be a wonderful opportunity to introduce the new Principal Mike Bain who starts at Wellesley on the 31st of May 2021.
Tickets ($75 each and a special price of $45 for students aged 18 and over) can be purchased on EventFinda
Please note that as part of your ticket purchase, you will receive light canapes and also complimentary beverages (beer, wine, juice, sodas) until 7.00pm. After 7.00pm, patrons will be able to purchase further beverages from the bar until the conclusion of the evening.
Please keep in touch with us, via email friends@wellesley.school.nz with your news updates, achievements and any other relevant information. We’d love to hear from you.
We want to provide all our Friends of Wellesley the opportunity to remain connected with the school. For those not currently receiving our Friends of Wellesley communications including At the Bay annual magazine, please advise us here.
It was lovely to reconnect with Wellington region based alumni for drinks at the Honey Badger on the 5th August 2020. Pictured here are some of our old boy attendees – Chris Blundell, Peter Chrisp (both Class of 1999), Robert Cross (Business Manager Wellesley, and former parent), Cam Mexted (Class of 1999) and Ben Shaw (Class of 1986). We look forward to hosting another alumni gathering soon.

A great opportunity for you to catch up with other Wellesley friends is the Opening Night of the biennial ARTBOURNE exhibition & sales whilst supporting the Foundation’s scholarship campaign and celebrating artistic endeavour. ARTBOURNE 2020 will also showcase several Old Boy artists, as the Wellesley experience fosters so many in the arts.
