Wellesley Insights Evening with Kathryn Berkett from Engage

14 June 2019

Enhancing Emotional Resilience

Thank you to all who attended our Wellesley Insights evening with guest speaker Kathryn Berkett from ENGAGE. Kathryn is an inspiring speaker who held our attention, unwaveringly, for the best part of an hour, and her insights were both generous and knowlegeable.

We were thrilled to see so many of our staff members in attendance, and the unanimous verdict was that her information was incredibly useful for both parents and teachers alike. Kathryn helped us understand the complexities of our “Red brain” vs our “Green brain”, the value of stepping back as a parent and letting our children experience being out of their comfort zone in order to spring back and become more resilient.

As promised, for those of you who were unable to attend, Kathryn has shared her Resilience presentation notes and some useful links on resilience with our Wellesley community.

Kathryn will also be doing a TED X talk this month, we hope to bring that to you as soon as it has been released. A big thank you to the Wellesley Wellbeing Team for organising this event, we look forward to seeing you again soon.
