#wellesley loves art – ARTBOURNE Exhibition (15th – 17th October)

For those new to Wellesley a bit of background: ARTBOURNE is part of the Wellesley art programme and is a popular biennial art exhibition of contemporary artworks, jewellery & sculpture from local and emerging artists.  Funds raised not only support the artists, but also the Wellesley College Foundation’s Scholarship Campaign – Promising Futures for Boys and the Visual Arts Development fund.

All members of our community are encouraged to buy tickets at $25 each for the catered Opening Night (the official launch of ARTBOURNE) on Thursday 15th October 7.00pm

The exhibition will then be open, with free entry, Friday 16th October, 8am – 4pm (earlier opening time for parents dropping off boys at school) and Saturday 17th October, 10am – 4pm (also General Election Day – our Parents Association will be hosting a sausage sizzle and bake sale at School to cater for all the extra Eastbourne and Bays voters that will be passing through)

PARENTS / PAST PARENTS – We need your support – THANK YOU!

ARTBOURNE couldn’t be run without our fabulous parent volunteers, some whom still stay involved despite being past parents! We have several areas that we’d love to get you involved in if you can devote your energy & skill set. We have a shared roster, so please slot in your name and contact or email Bec Fitzgerald from the Parents Association (WPA) or Rosie Torbit –  THANK YOU!

BE IN TO WIN!!! Purchase a ticket to Opening Night and you could win an original work by one of our exhibiting artists.

ARTBOURNE is an iconic event and after this ‘unsteady’ year, we are so looking forward to seeing our community and rediscovering, through art, the things that make us feel good – during Covid-19 and beyond.  Thank you to all our supporters including Pub Charity, ANZ, Exhibit A Framers, Bhakti Mistry Bayleys, Exhibition Hire Services, Matahiwi Estate Wine, Garage Project, The Wellesley College Foundation and the Wellesley Parents Association.

The ARTBOURNE event dates are now on the Wellesley Facebook page so please share your interest with family and friends. For further details, check out www.artbourne.org.nz   or email:  glen@wellesley.school.nz or rosie@wellesley.school.nz
