The Wellesley College Parents Association (PA) is a voluntary organisation that plays an active part in the ‘Wellesley Family’. The Association’s aims are to support Wellesley’s financial aspect to help provide students with the best possible educational opportunities, and to be a social catalyst for Wellesley’s parents and wider community.
The mix of activities run by the Association includes a biennial gala, golf tournament, quiz evenings, dances and balls, and fundraising initiatives such as selling Entertainment Books.
Over the years, the Association’s fundraising activities have enabled the school to install electronic whiteboards in every classroom, helped with the school’s redevelopment and building the Inner Quad, provided a range of sports equipment, and allowed furnishings to be updated.
In recent years, the Association has focused on fundraising to establish a permanent scholarship for a boy who would not otherwise be able to attend Wellesley. In 2009, the first scholarship from this fund will be offered to a Year 7 boy for two years.
All families of current students are automatically full members of the Parents Association and are warmly invited to attend the Annual General Meeting and to join the Association’s vibrant committee. If you would like to become involved, please contact the school office.
