The Wellesley College Parents Association (PA) is a voluntary organisation that works alongside the Development Office, the Teachers & Staff and the Year Reps as part of our school network. The focus of the PA is twofold, to provide occasions for the Wellesley parents to get together and socialise and to fund raise for the school. The PA uses funds raised to support both the Wellesley Foundation (supporting the building project and the Wellesley Scholarship) as well as to purchase items that fall outside the annual school budget including larger one off items related to the School’s needs. For example the last two years have seen the Parents Association pay for new sports equipment and uniforms, IT and science equipment.
The Association runs a number of social events during the year such as a Parent’s Education evening, a social dance as well as two larger fund raising events.
In 2011 we will have two of our long standing (and good fund raising) events for the school, the Wellesley Gala and the Wellesley Golf Day. The organising committees for each event are in full swing for both these events with the Golf Day planned for the Friday 18th March and the Gala on Sunday 6th November. However for each of these committees more assistance is required so please don’t hesitate to contact the Parents Association or get involved directly via the organising committee if you have a particular area of interest or can help in any way (please click the links below for more details). Please book these into your diaries and make sure you come along to what are well-attended and hugely fun events.
The PA will also be selling Entertainment Books and Lifepacs again this year which are staples of our fund raising. Please see the links for more information.
