Each year, the Wellesley Board of Trustees and the Wellesley College Foundation make funding available for full or part scholarships.
Principal’s and Foundation Scholarships
- The Board of Trustees will provide a scholarship for a new student (for the year ahead) at Year 7 level. This is known as the Principal’s Scholarship.
- Through the school community and Parents Association’s fundraising efforts, the Wellesley College Foundation will provide a half scholarship for a new student (for the year ahead) at Year 7 level.
- The scholarships are targeted at boys who would not normally be able to attend Wellesley, for financial reasons.
- The scholarships are intended to encourage students who would make a valuable contribution to the school.
- A student’s citizenship qualities and /or special cultural, sporting or academic talent(s) are factors in awarding the scholarships.
- The scholarships are awarded for two years, for part or full tuition fees.
- The Board of Trustees reserves the right to terminate the scholarships at any time if the Principal deems the progress or behaviour of the recipient to be unsatisfactory.
- Selected candidates will be interviewed, with details supplied in a letter sent on receipt of an application.
- The scholarships are awarded at the Principal’s discretion and the decision is final and confidential.
- Applications usually close in the second term of the school year. See the application form for details.
